This 1993 photograph shows Joo Chiat Place (at Tembeling Road corner towards Joo Chiat Road). A row of two-storey shophouses line the street, and in the distance can be seen blocks of high-rise flats. Joo Chiat Place is named after Chinese landowner Chew Joo Chiat. Title devised by Library staff.
