"Photograph of tables and chairs in hostel dining hall, with social distancing markers, and extra tables collected in an area. Photos taken from around NUS and my student hostel when the university started implementing social distancing measures. Slowly, more students decided to move out of their campus accommodations as restrictions were increased. As the circuit breaker kicked in, dining in canteens was disallowed and the tables were removed. All this made the atmosphere around campus much more sombre, a stark difference from the usual liveliness we were used to."--Contributed by Max Ang, as part of the "Documenting COVID-19 in Singapore" collection community call. This photograph shows an almost empty NUS UTown hostel dining hall. Tables have red crosses on them as safe distancing markers to ensure diners maintain a safe distance between them. Tables are pushed together to one corner of the hall with chairs stacked up next to them. Additional description by Library staff. Title devised by Library staff.
