This 1986 photograph shows Middle Road, at Prinsep Street junction towards Albert Street, with a view of shophouses at the junction. Middle Road is named because it formerly served as a demarcation line which separated the civic area from the ethnic settlements of Singapore. Title devised by Library staff.
