This 1983 photograph shows Upper Circular Road, from near New Bridge Road (towards South Bridge Road). It shows a view of a one-way street with shophouses and roadside parking lots on the right. At the far end are more shophouses, behind which can be seen the high-rise buildings of the Central Business District. Upper Circular Road was named for its alignment following the arc of the Singapore River. Title devised by Library staff.
