Speaker at exhibition of woodwork factories' products

Hiap Chuan Joo was one of the largest sawmill factories in Singapore. Located at Balestier, it produced wooden crates used for beverages including Coca-Cola and Tiger Beer. Taken in the 1950s this photograph shows a view of an exhibition of woodwork factories' products. It is likely to be a function of Tiger Breweries. Hiap Chuan Joo was an exhibitor. In this photograph a male Caucasian is giving a speech at the centre of a long row of table. Four men are seated behind the table. Title devised by Library staff.
