This 1967 photograph shows a shophouse on Stanley Street. Features include full-length windows flanked by half-length casement windows on its upper storeys, windows on the third are topped with fanlights, and a Chinese-style roof canopy overhanging the first storey. The entrance to the shophouse is fixed with a pair of swinging doors (pintu pagar), a typical feature of Peranakan houses that allow breezes into the dwelling while maintaining privacy. Date of creation estimated. Title devised by Library staff.
