Scotts Road houses, 1919 : general view

This 1919 photograph is mounted on a board, with the handwritten words "Scotts Rd, 1919" on the back. This photograph shows houses near Scotts Road, amidst trees and undergrowth. Scotts Road is named after William G. Scott (1786 - 1861), Harbour Master Attendant and Post Master of Singapore in 1836. He was one of the most respected residents in Singapore and was well-known for his benevolence, hospitality, kind-heartedness. Date of creation estimated. Title devised by Library staff.
