This 1993 photograph shows Tanjong Katong Road (east side, between Parkstone Road and Boscombe Road). Tanjong Katong is Malay for turtle point. Katong is the name of a species of sea turtles now extinct. The name can also mean the rippling effect of a mirage across the shoreline. Title devised by Library staff.
