This 1966 photograph shows a terrace house on Neil Road featuring a set of swinging doors (pintu pagar), a distinctive fixture of Peranakan houses that allows in breezes while maintaining privacy. Seen above the door is a plaque inscribed with Chinese characters that signify peace and harmony (怡和). Title devised by Library staff.
