Pyrrhus and Mentor in harbour, 1919 : general view

This 1919 photograph is mounted on a board, with handwritten words "80 passengers/class. This class carried 80 passengers" "Centre Castle accommodation "PYRRHUS" "MENTOR". Brown. Teiresing. Singapore. 1919. MRR.D. HOLT ONBOARD" on the front. This photograph shows the ships Pyrrhus and Mentor in the harbour. Singapore was an important port-of-call in the 1900s. The ships could have been ferrying passengers or carrying cargoes such as tin ores, coffee, pepper, rice, rubber and tobacco. Title devised by Library staff.
