This 1992 photograph shows the double-storey terrace houses at no. 38 Sussex Estate at Horsham Road. The photograph depicts three of the units. The two-storey building sits amidst green open spaces and a well laid out stone footpath serves the houses. Sussex Estate is named after the historic county of Sussex in England. The estate was developed in the mid-1950s to house the families of British senior non-commissioned officers. In 1975 when Clementi was being developed, Sussex Estate was the only pre-development feature that was retained, but was demolished later in 1997. The area where Clementi Avenue 1 is, used to be Sussex Estate. Title devised by Library staff.
