This 1992 photograph shows Geylang Road (from Lorong 33 Geylang, eastwards). It shows a view of a street lined with low-rise commercial buildings and roadside parking lots. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
