D'Almeida Street, towards Finlayson Green : general view [1]

This 1982 photograph shows D'Almeida Street with buildings by the side of the road, towards Finlayson Green. High-rise buildings can be seen in the background. D'Almeida Street is named after Jose d'Almeida Carvalho E. Silva, a former Portuguese naval surgeon who came to Singapore to set up a dispensary and later became one of Singapore's leading merchants. The roads mentioned are in the Raffles Place area. Title devised by Library staff.
