Hiap Chuan Joo was one of the largest sawmill factories in Singapore. Located at Balestier it produced wooden crates used for beverages including Coca-Cola and Tiger Beer. Taken in 1963/1964 this photograph shows Ng Siew Hoo, second son of the owner of Hiap Chuan Joo sawmill, with two friends at the factory. Ng is on the left. Title devised by Library staff.
