This 1983 photograph shows Trengganu Street, from Temple Street (towards Smith Street). It shows a view of a street with a three-storey shophouse building at the junction of Trengganu Street and Temple Street. The road signs for the two streets are mounted on the walls of a shophouse on the right. A high-rise apartment block can be seen towering over the shophouse building. Along the street in front of the shophouses can be seen street vendors under canvas-covered makeshift stalls. Trengganu Road was named after Terengganu, a sultanate and state on the north-eastern side of Malaysia. The road has now been converted into a pedestrian mall. Title devised by Library staff.
