Chwee Kang Beo Temple, doorway : close-up

This 2009 photograph shows a doorway at Chwee Kang Beo Temple (水江庙) or Temple by the River, with doors carved with sculptures of Chinese deities. It is believed that the Chinese deities would stop evil spirits from entering, thus the name "Guardians of the Temple" or "Door God" (门神). Title devised by Library staff.
