Sea shore of Tanjong Katong, Singapore

This is a black-and-white postcard with a photograph of Tanjong Katong beach. The outhouses and jetty most probably belonged to the establishment (slightly hidden) further inland. They formed part of the many holiday lodgings that made Tanjong Katong a popular seaside resort in the early 1900s. Many of these were demolished during World War II and the remaining ones disappeared with land reclamation. The back of the postcard is unwritten. Date of creation estimated.
