This 1967 photograph shows the corridor of a house at Emerald Hill, located off Orchard Road. The house features a set of swinging doors (pintu pagar) and floor tiles with geometric patterns. The swinging doors are a typical feature of Peranakan houses, allowing in breezes while maintaining privacy. Title devised by Library staff.
