This 1986 photograph shows Kitchener Road (from near Jalan Besar junction towards Serangoon Road). It shows a view of a street with shophouses on the left foreground, and a high-rise apartment block in the background. Kitchener Road is named after the war hero Field Marshal Viscount Horatio Herbert Kitchener of Khartoum (1850 - 1916). Title devised by Library staff.
