This is a 1982 photograph depicting Lorong 28 Geylang, towards Geylang Road. It shows a tree-lined street with two-storey terrace houses on both sides of the road. Vehicles are parked in the roadside parking lots on both sides of the road. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
