This 1975 photograph shows two Early Style (1860s) houses, connected to each other by an unusual white brick side entrance in Malacca. These traditional kampong houses are built on timber posts. Three different materials are used to build the roofs mainly, clay tiles, zinc and attap leaves. A staircase can be seen, leading from ground to the verandah level. Title devised by Library staff.
