Lorong 24A Geylang, at Geylang Road junction : general view

Reproduction Available:

This is a1992 photograph which shows the side view of a three-storey shophouse building at Lorong 24A Geylang, (west corner, Geylang Road junction). The name Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", a Malay term for factory. This stems from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories that used to be in the area. The second and third storeys have louvred windows. Cars are parked on the street in front of the building. Title devised by Library staff.
