This 1982 photograph shows a street view of the side of a row of two and three-storey shophouses along Spottiswoode Park Road. The upper storeys of the shophouses feature louvred windows and the building is supported by columns which extend through to the second storey as pilasters. Spottiswoode Park Road, which is located near the Tanjong Pagar area, is probably named after one of the partners of Spottiswoode & Co. They were William, Charles and Archibald Spottiswoode. The building which houses the shophouses is at the right hand side of this section of road at Spottiswoode Park. A number of vehicles are seen parked outside the shop fronts. A few people can also be partially seen walking on the road. Title devised by Library staff.
