This 1969 photograph shows a row of shophouses featuring full-length French windows and half-length casement windows (on the upper storeys), each topped with a transom window. Stanley Street was also referred to as ma cho kiong hi tai au, meaning behind the ma cho temple's theatrical stage. Title devised by Library staff.
