This 1992 photograph depicts Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) on Sophia Road, near Selegie Road. Sophia Road was named after Sophia Cooke, a remarkable missionary and teacher sent to Singapore in 1853 by the Society for the Promotion of Female Education in the East.
