This 1966 photograph shows the exterior of a two-storey shophouse in Malacca. The architecture of the terrace house is a fusion of European and Chinese styles. Some prominent features include Corinthian pilasters, semi-circular pediments on top of French windows and green glazed bamboo-shaped roof tiling. A panel of Fujian jian nian (cut and paste) style ceramic mosaic shards embedded in cement to form phoenix and floral figures can be seen. Title devised by Library staff.
