This 1992 photograph depicts Lorong 42 Geylang, from Geylang Road junction. It shows a street with two-storey shophouses to the right of the photograph. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
