This 1971 photograph features the dining room of Panglima Prang. Panglima Prang was a 19th century Straits Chinese bungalow built by Tan Kim Seng and was situated at Jalan Kuala, off River Valley Road before it was demolished in 1982. The dining table takes centre stage, with an ancestral altar in the background. Mirrored sideboards flanked by Chinese style chairs line the sides of the room, giving it a symmetrical appearance. Date of creation estimated. Title devised by Library staff.
