This 1983 photograph shows China Street, from the corner of Chin Chew Street (towards Nankin Street). Multi-storeyed shophouses line both sides of the street. Many vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, and pick-up trucks are parked along the roadside on both sides. A low-rise building and more shophouses can be seen in the background. The shophouses pictured here are currently under the Chinatown conservation area. Title devised by Library staff.
