This 1985 photograph depicts Syed Alwi Road (from Verdun Road corner towards Serangoon Road). It shows a view of a street with shophouses and other commercial buildings on both sides. Syed Alwi Road was known as Syed Allie Road, named after Arab merchant Syed Allie Bin Mohamed Al Junied. Title devised by Library staff.
