A 1982 photograph depicting no. 62 North Boat Quay, a warehouse (Joo Seng Co. Ltd) in Clarke Street. Boat Quay facilitates unloading of goods off boats, tongkangs and lighters along the Singapore River and delivering them to the merchants' godowns lining the quay. By late 1970s, the river was cleaned up and the godowns converted to restaurants and bars. Title devised by Library staff.
