This photograph shows a scene at "Switch Off the Lights, Please", a performance art by Tang Da Wu, a Singaporean artist. Tang is dressed in white overalls and safety helmet, and is bending over a pile of soil. Some of the items next to the soil are white canvas, framed portrait, wheelbarrow and a plant, which are props used in the performance. The audiences are seated around casually. The performance was presented under Guinness Raw Theatre I, at The Substation Garden between 6 and 17 December 1991. Date of creation estimated. Title devised by Library staff.
