Sikh policeman, 1900s : full-length portrait

This photograph shows a Sikh policeman standing on a concrete drum, in the middle of intersecting roads. He is wearing gloves to direct the traffic, before the installation of traffic lights in Singapore. A man on a bicycle is waiting to cross the road in the background. There is a pawnshop on the right hand side of the photograph. Title devised by Library staff. Date of creation estimated.
