Keramat on Kusu island, mid-1970s

This photograph shows a group of visitors paying respect to a keramat (shrine) on Kusu island, taken between 1974 and 1976. A greenish blue pillar painted with the word "keramat" and the Islamic crest is on the right, and a small altar with burning candles and incense is on the left. Red banners with Chinese characters hang from the ceiling. Title devised by Library staff.
