This 1986 photograph shows shophouses at no. 216 to 219 Syed Alwi Road (at the corner of Townshend Road). The shophouse building has a roof edge that features decorative fretwork fascia, while the upper floor features casement windows with timber louvred shutters. The ground floor units are occupied by various shops. Title devised by Library staff.
