This photograph shows two women wearing traditional samfoo attire, with their hair tied up in a bun, hawking fruits and vegetables at a roadside market in Singapore. Across the road are other pedlars who eke out a living, selling sundries and other items to shoppers walking along the street. On the road is a trishaw. The three-wheeled, passenger-carrying vehicle consists of a bicycle that is attached to a sidecar, located on the left side of the trishaw rider. Fittings include a cushioned seat and a hood that provides shade for the passenger. Physical dimensions of original: 35 mm. Date of creation estimated. Title devised by Library staff.
