Four workers and lorry at Hiap Chuan Joo sawmill

Hiap Chuan Joo was one of the largest sawmill factories in Singapore. Located at Balestier it produced wooden crates used for beverages including Coca-Cola and Tiger Beer. Taken in the 1950s this photograph shows four workers and a lorry at the factory. One of them is on top of the crates loaded on the lorry while the remaining three are on the driver's side of the lorry. Title devised by Library staff.
