This 1983 photograph shows Boat Quay (from Ellenborough Market). Shophouses can be seen along the bank of the Singapore River. The road along the quay, also called North Boat Quay, has been turned into a pedestrian mall with the restoration and redevelopment of Clarke Quay in the 1990s. Partially seen on the right of the photograph is Liang Court (under construction). Title devised by Library staff.
