This photograph shows an exterior view of Thian Hock Keng Temple (Temple of Heavenly Happiness) with two people in sarongs and a rickshaw puller in front of it. Built between 1839-1842, it is the oldest and most important Hokkien temple in Singapore. It is dedicated to Matsu, the Taoist goddess of the sea and protector of all seamen.
