This 1992 photograph shows Lorong 38 Geylang, at Geylang Road junction. It shows a street with low-rise buildings on both sides, and roadside parking lots. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
