This 1993 photograph shows cleared ground at Punggol Twenty-fourth Avenue. In the background can be seen many tall trees, with a body of water visible in the left background. Punggol is also spelt Ponggol, and means "throwing sticks to knock down fruit from trees" in Malay. It can also mean "a wholesale market for fruits" or "a high tree stump".
