This 1992 photograph depicts Lorong 24A Geylang, (from Geylang Road junction). It shows a view of shophouses and parked vehicles along both sides of the road. Several residential blocks of flats can also be seen in the background. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
