This 1982 photograph shows the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company factory, located at Kallang Road (between Sir Arthur's Bridge and old Airport gate). The Kallang area is believed to be named after the "orang biduanda kallang", sea gypsies who lived in the vicinity. Title devised by Library staff.
