Singapore, Malay village St. James



This image shows the front and back of a tinted postcard sent from Singapore to Paris, France. The front features a Malay village, as viewed from St. James (a promontory). Seen here is a cluster of wooden stilt houses built along the coast. The undivided back is affixed with a 3-cent Straits Settlements stamp, and is postmarked 29 September 1906 (Singapore). Date of creation estimated.
