This 1992 photograph depicts Lorong 36 Geylang, towards Geylang Road. It shows a single-lane street with a row of terrace houses to the left and roadside parking lots to the right. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
