Close-up view of a wrecked Anson aircraft, 1953 [1]

This photograph shows the front view of a grounded and smashed aircraft. An Asian armed uniform guard is standing in front of the plane and a British serviceman is taking pictures of the wreck. It is most probably the Avro Anson aircraft that crashed in a Kuala Lumpur cemetery near the RAF airfield in 1953, killing its civilian pilot and co-pilot. RAF officers were among those who arrived at the crash scene. Title devised by library staff. Date of creation estimated.
