South Bridge Road, 1890s : general view

This 1890s photograph from G.R. Lambert & Co. shows a view of South Bridge Road. Though with an inscription "22.North Bridge Road" on the front of the photograph, the view actually depicts the main thoroughfare of Chinatown (on South Bridge Road), crowded with rickshaws in the late 19th century. The rickshaw was a mode of public transport in Singapore in 1880. Title devised by Library staff. Date of creation estimated.
