Japanese soldiers in the Bukit Timah area prior to the capitulation of the British forces in Malaya. The seizure of Bukit Timah in February was pivotal as the hill was the highest point on the island and from which there were roads that led straight to the city centre. This photograph was reproduced in a Japanese propaganda magazine entitled "Home".

Race course grounds just off Serangoon Road, Singapore. This area was renamed Farrer Park in 1935 when the racecourse was shifted to Bukit Timah. The area just beyond the sheep is a bunker and green associated with the Golf Club that used the interior of the race course at that time.
