Lorry loaded with "Red Lion" crates in Hiap Chuan Joo sawmill



Hiap Chuan Joo was one of the largest sawmill factories in Singapore. Located at Balestier it produced wooden crates used for beverages including Coca-Cola and Tiger Beer. Taken in the 1950s this photograph shows a factory lorry loaded with "Red Lion" crates in the sawmill factory. More crates on the factory grounds are seen in the background.
