"I have started to pursue a new interest in wood-craft in December 2019, in specific up cycling off-cuts or waste wood previous used for other purpose. When the circuit breaker was implemented, I wanted to do something as a tribute to front-line workers and at the same time to continue to practice my rudimentary skills in wood-craft. These endeavors turn out to be a blessing in disguise for me, keep me mentally sane and active even while staying at home and improved my skills. I also found a craft-buddy, my friend who lives in Clementi and we exchanged tips, shared pictures and keep in contact through Whatsapp. We ended up making around one hundred of such toys and gifted them to front-line workers at Tan Tock Seng hospital as our token of appreciation and in conjunction with Singapore Nurses' Day."--Contributed by Anonymous, as part of the "Documenting COVID-19 in Singapore" collection community call. This photograph shows two hand-made wooden figurines representing medical workers, or doctors to be more specific. Both figures are carrying stethoscopes over their shoulders.
